Crisis in the summer of 2010

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is the largest environmental disaster in the history of the USA. It has also been out of control since it began with an explosion on a drilling rig on April 20, 2010, killing 11 workers.[1] Efforts to stop the flow of oil or to prevent its damage to the eco system have so far failed. Such an event was accurately predicted on December 30, 2009 based on a reading of the period and transit influences in the SAMVA USA chart in 2010.[2]

Predictions for the USA in 2010
One of the first features of the prediction was a discussion of the sub-period influence. There it was noted that the Saturn sub-period in the SAMVA USA chart (Perpetual Union) is in operation from February 2009 to April 2012. It was then mentioned that Saturn is a general indicator of e.g. things mined from the ground. As a result, such issues were predicted to become the focus of the national life during the Saturn sub-period.

In the discussion of the difficult transits in the summer of 2010, under the heading "Crisis in the summer of 2010" it was mentioned that from mid May to mid August 2010 the nodes become stationary at 18° Sagittarius and Gemini from where they aspect their natal counterparts. At that time, "signficant problems were to be expected" also as Jupiter and Saturn would be opposite in transit, while both are afflicting natal Jupiter in the chart.

Some violent events - natural or man made - are thus likely to take place during the summer...On May 23, 2010, transit 6th lord Jupiter at 3° 52’ Pisces and 9th house will become opposite transit stationary 8th lord Saturn at 3° 52’ Virgo and 3rd house. As both planets are also aspecting natal Jupiter at 4° 25’ Scorpio and 5th house, this aspect is likely to produce setbacks, especially for the indications of Jupiter, including financial stability. There could be violent or destructive events.

An interesting aspect was noted, namely "the lord of separation (Ketu) aspects itself." This aspect explains the sense of helplessness, the inability of the company BP or the government to do something to stem the flow of oil at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico.[3] In fact, this helplessness has become a defining characteristic of the oil spill crisis. While it was noted that "Ketu in the 12th house tends to produce sudden stress in foreign relationships, expenses and may cause loss of assets" it may also be pointed out that Ketu is placed in the 12th house, which has to do with remote or out of reach places. We could also note that as Rahu aspects itself, pollution is a key interpretation of this contact, albeit this impotant indication was not mentioned explicitly in the article.

Conclusion
This is yet another demonstration of the SAMVA USA chart as accurately reflecting the karmic destiny of the USA as a nation. Moreover, other events were predicted at this time, such as financial volatility, racial/ethnic problems or war.
