Short lived tension ahead for investors

An analysis of the SAMVA USA chart reveals two aspects in coming weeks which may disturb investor sentiments. As these aspects pass and Mars leaves the 12th house of the chart to enter the 1st, the month of May should see a gradual improvement in market conditions.

Aspect of transit SATURN to natal MOON
The planet Saturn is transiting the sign Leo until September 10, 2009. In the Cancer rising SAMVA USA chart, the sign Aquarius, which is ruled by Saturn, falls into the eighth house. Saturn thus becomes the 8th lord of the chart. As such it rules “beliefs of the masses, red-tape, speed of execution of works, delays and obstructions, accidents, fatal accidents, epidemics, gold and precious stones, legacies, capital gains, floods, earthquakes, cyclones, storms, etc.”. Saturn generally also rules “civil servants, low technology industry and mines.”

Leo is the 2nd house in a chart with Cancer rising. When Saturn is strong and not afflicting in the chart it may bring easy gains or inheritances. In this sign, Saturn can cause stress or setbacks to 2nd house matters such as the “national wealth, status and relationships within country and with neighbors. This house also rules the purchasing power of the people, financial stability, national income, strength of currency, budget and balance of trade.”

However, for the next month (until May 15, 2008), transit Saturn is going retrograde, stationary and direct around 7° 42’ Leo and 2nd house where it will closely aspect the natal Moon at 7° 25’ Taurus and the 11th house in the SAMVA USA chart. The malefic energy of transit Saturn as 8th lord will then bring the energy of obstruction and endings to the natal Moon and what it represents in the chart.

As the Moon rules the sign Cancer, which rises in the chart, it becomes the lord of the 1st house. The first house rules the ”general conditions of the country as a whole, people and their general outlook, state of law and order, public health, government, reputation, valor and its position in the world.” Moreover, the Moon is the general indicator of “the administrator, masses, natural resources and acts as significator for the fourth and seventh houses.” As the Moon is natally placed in the 11th house, the indications of this house are important for its expression in the national life of the USA. The 11th house rules “income, gains, and future plans.” Americans therefore tend to express their “self” in the acquisition of material things and the realization of goals.

It is highly likely that the above areas ruled by the Moon will be disturbed in the national life of Americans through some event in coming weeks. Fortunately, as the Moon is very strong in the chart, the setback would be short lived. This aspect is likely to keep the stock market subdued and the dollar under strain.

Mutual aspect of transit JUPITER and transit MARS
Another aspect of note in coming weeks is the opposition aspect of transit Jupiter in Sagittuarius and transit Mars in Gemini. This aspect will become exact when the planets are at 28° Sagittarius and Gemini on April 24, 2009.

Mars is the general indicator of the “army and police“. As it rules the sign Aries, which falls in the 10th house of the SAMVA USA chart, Mars becomes the 10th lord and thus becomes the indicator of the “executive, parliament, administration, foreign trade, law and order.”

As it is transiting the 12th house it is being affected by such things as “financial losses, expenditure, mishaps, group hospitalizations, foreign debt, wars and smuggling.” A general interpretation of this placement is a loss of confidence for entrepreneurs and investors.

Jupiter is the general indicator of “diplomatic attaches, advisors to head of state, teachers, judiciary and banking systems.“ As the owner of the sign of Sagittarius, Jupiter becomes lord of the 6th house. As such it brings the energy of this house to the planets and houses it touches. The 6th house rules “public amity, relations with neighbors, general health of the public, political stability, financial solvency of the nation, litigations, judicial functioning, communal harmony in the country and labor relations.” In other words, Jupiter has to do with conflict, malfunction and (in)ability to handle debts.

During the mutual aspect of Jupiter and Mars it is likely that the confidence of investors will be hit with fresh concerns over debts, creating controversy and that the sentiments could then be expected to hit a low ebb.

Given the above two aspects, the coming few weeks are expected to produce events that are again disturbing for the stock market. This prediction is in line with an earlier prediction of more financial market volatility in 2008.

Some relief is not far off
However, a more favourable wind is also expected to soon begin to blow in May. Transit Mars will exit the 12th house and enter the 1st house of the SAMVA USA chart on April 29, 2008. This is expected to bring relief to the finanacial markets.

A few days later, on May 5th, Rahu will enter the sign Capricorn and the 7th house of the chart, while Ketu will enter Cancer and the 1st house. The passage of Rahu in Capricorn and Ketu in Cancer may create some hopes for adventure but may also cause stress in “matters of health, new business ventures, progeny matters, emotional happiness, marital affairs and income if the natal planets are weak. Success of future plans may get delayed if the natal planets are weak. Investments may cause unexpected losses.”
